(PRESS RELEASE) SAINT-OUEN-SUR-SEINE, 27-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Alstom, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, is celebrating the positive social and environmental impact of its UK and Ireland supply chain with the inaugural Supplier Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards. Nine awards were presented to recognize both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large companies that are not only delivering products and services to Alstom but are also contributing to social value. This includes enhancing health and wellbeing, addressing social inequality, combating climate change, and fostering equal opportunities, all in line with the UK Government’s Social Value Model.
The awards followed a comprehensive engagement exercise in partnership with the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS), a virtual platform providing tailored learning pathways for Alstom’s UK and Ireland suppliers. Over the past year, 125 suppliers participated in learning pathways related to sustainability, diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), and environment, health, and safety (EHS).
Olivier Quindos, Procurement Director UK and Ireland at Alstom, remarked, “Alstom’s Supplier CSR Awards celebrate the outstanding initiatives that are already making a significant difference in the industry. These awards set a benchmark for what’s possible when we align our values and goals. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to work alongside our partners to shape a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient rail industry.”
This year’s awards recognized suppliers making an impact across a range of social value priorities, from apprenticeship programs and employee resource groups (ERGs) to staff wellbeing initiatives and climate change solutions.
Lindsay Harrison, Chief Customer Officer at Rullion, said, “We are incredibly proud to be recognized for our commitment to equal opportunities, which are at the heart of our values. By shifting our recruitment approaches and reaching out to underrepresented communities, we can attract a broader and more diverse talent pool.”
The awards ceremony also featured speeches from Elaine Clark OBE, CEO of Rail Forum, and Noel Travers, Chairman of the Railway Industry Association, both of whom stressed the importance of embedding social value across the sector’s supply chain.
